COMMUNITY
"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about."
The simple act of gathering can effect change and impact not only your life but the lives of others. Learn more about how I strive to strengthen our communities through connecting people with similar lived experiences, goals and desires for themselves and their families.
The Body Project Group
Everyone can relate to having days where they aren't liking the way their body looks. But what happens when the occasional "bad day," turns into an everyday reality?
Have you noticed an increase in your negative self talk, feelings of shame and sadness and a desire to make a plan to fix it all. You may begin having thoughts about changing the way you eat, or exercise more to try and change how your body looks. Suddenly, it's all you can think about.
With so much focus on appearance in our culture, it makes sense that many of us struggle to feel good about ourselves and our bodies. Now add in the effects of scrolling social media all day and seeing the filtered images of influencers and peers. It's no wonder so many young women feel like they will never be enough. But it doesn't need to be that way.

This group aims to provide a safe, non judgmental space for girls ages 12 - 17 to reduce body dissatisfaction, negative mood, and unhealthy eating habits and patterns.
This group will address the following topics:
- Nutrition Basics: Understanding why all food is good food when the focus is NUTRIENTS not calories
- Dispelling Food and Body Myths that perpetuate unhealthy eating cycles
- An introduction to Intuitive Eating and Mindfulness
- Coping with intense feelings with a focus on emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness skills
- Introduction to Health at Every Size concepts
- Replacing body-shaming behaviors to body-positive behaviors
- Sharing of thoughts and feelings discussing the impact of societal beauty ideals, billion dollar diet industry and social media
Stop tearing yourself up, improve your confidence and learn to begin accepting your body today!
